She earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Cello Performance under the tutelage of multi-Grammy nominee and Naumburg award-winning Rhonda Rider.
In her sophomore year at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, Elaina earned one of the principal positions in the Boston Conservatory Orchestra. In her undergraduate program, she performed as principal cellist in eight orchestral concerts in halls most notably including the Boston Symphony Orchestra's Symphony Hall, Mechanics Hall in Worcester, MA, and Sander’s Theatre in Cambridge, MA. Elaina has had two opportunities to record at Power Station Recording Studios at Berklee NYC, once as a three-year member of the conservatory’s contemporary cello octet, BoCo Celli, and another time as principal cellist in a film score recording chamber orchestra. At Power Station, she participated in ten world premieres. Two of the works featured her solo, one composed in a world premiere and another improvised in a contemporary work. In the 2022-2023 school year, Elaina was the cellist of the Hemenway String Quartet which competed and won the title of the Boston Conservatory’s Honors Ensemble. The quartet performed renowned repertoire in recitals all throughout Massachusetts. In the spring of 2024, Elaina was the featured solo cellist at the Lee Berk Tribute Concert at the Berklee Performance Center, performing arrangements of film score themes by Alan Silvestri and Ramin Djawadi.
Elaina currently plays an Italian cello by the work of Valentino De Zorzi, Florence circa 1909 from world-renowned luthier Curtis Bryant’s personal collection. Previously, she was a Virtu Foundation Scholar awarded the use of a cello from the Virtu collection in 2023-2024.
Prior to her undergraduate years, Elaina found her passion for cello performance during her time in the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestras. She performed as principal in the Chicago Symphony Orchestra's Orchestra Hall and performed as a selected member of the Classical Orchestral Repertory Ensemble. It was in these experiences that she knew she was meant for a life in music.
When not making music, Elaina cultivates her other favorite artistic mediums. She is most passionate in contemporary dance and hip-hop and has danced at Boston Dance Studios and Millenium Dance Complex Nashville. Elaina comes from a big Greek family and is very connected to her Greek culture. She is a trained Byzantine Iconographer and her paintings have been featured in churches across the globe. When not creating art, she is the biggest supporter of consuming the arts, and enjoys doing so the most when she is alongside her friends and family.
